Below, are the establishments which truly understand their craft and for the meat lovers who appreciate it.
Few restaurants celebrate meat the way Zum goldenen Kalb does. The house specializes in high-quality steak, and its carnivorous menu is reflected in its interior design. An eye-catching refrigerator displays the restaurant’s stock of meat, from which guests can choose their cut.
Located in the beautiful Lehel district, Butchery is a quality yet unconventional establishment merging a deli, butcher shop and bistro. The white tiles, black board and hip, bearded butcher shop employees give the place a certain ‘hipster’ vibe. Fine quality meat, burgers and pastrami sandwiches are on offer.
Izakaya is a rising star in Munich’s gastronomy scene, located in the newly opened Roomers Hotel. From the entrance, you immediately see the hustle and bustle of busy chefs working in the open kitchen. The dark, stylishly designed interior with its large wooden fish is eye-catching. But the chefs of the Izakaya also prove that the Asian cuisine here doesn’t only revolve around seafood. In addition to the large selection of Bao Buns, various Wagyu specialities are served. The delicious Chimichurri Beef Skewers are a favourite here too.
The butcher shop Bauch is an institution when it comes to meat and sausage products. More than 60 years ago, the foundation stone was laid on Murnauer Straße for what was to become the biggest butcher shop in Munich. Here, butchery is not just practiced, it is a way of life. Everything is of the highest quality, but the establishment’s biggest claim-to-fame is its white sausage. On Saturdays, long queues form outside this establishment for this delicacy.
The Theresa Grill is located in Maxvorstadt not far from Odeonsplatz. In this modern establishment decorated with timeless furnishings, guests are pampered with the finest food. Here, meat lovers are in heaven. From lamb chops, to roast beef or T-Bone steak, everything is beautifully served on wooden boards.
